On Wednesday we ran the final Weekday League match of 2022, the weather was poor with 5 competitors battling the elements of heavy rain and gusty winds.
Mick got off to a quick start by landing an early Carp before everyone broke for a hearty breakfast in the nice warm cabin, this was followed by another Carp and some silvers.
All were back in action by midday just in time for a heavy downpour, at which time the windy gusts gathered strength causing brollies to spin and even fall over.
Julie opened her book by catching a lively Perch followed later by a prime 2+ lb Carp.
Mike managed to catch four Common Carp spread throughout the match, all on the pole, the largest being 6 lbs 14 ozs.
Pete had a tough day landing one silver after the frustration of little interest from wary carp that just would not feed confidently.
Steve, in the far end swim was also not able to get any decisive bites despite trying to tempt the carp with Fjuka baits of various colours.
End of season summary;
Mike with 19lbs 14 ozs in total won this match and takes the Weekday League Points title for 2022.
Pete takes the Weekday League Highest Total Weight for 2022, beating Mike by an amazingly close 4 ozs over the whole season.
