Five hardy anglers arrived at The Lilies on a chilly day in persistent rain, eventually the rain eased but didn’t completely clear during the whole match.
This was a fun/social event where the aim was to catch any or all of the new species that were added over the last winter.
Mike decided it would be a good idea to blow the start whistle from inside his dry and cosy brolly shelter, Steve was to his left and Julie to his right, all three of them blanked!
Mick was the first to hook a fish which turned out to be a muscle bound Carp that ‘snapped him up’, however Mick did eventually go on to catch a nice Mirror Carp of 8 lbs 11 ozs, this fish was one of the recent new stock as proven by it’s pinging positive on the club’s fish tag scanner.
Pete also had a good Mirror Carp of 8 lb 8 ozs, this one though did not raise a response on the scanner and hence must have been one of ‘The Originals’.
Well done Mick and Pete for catching something, even though they were not what we were after.
