Horizon Angling Club for the Disabled

We had a good turnout of 7 anglers for this match at Barons Pond, this despite Pete & Julie swanning off on holiday, for a well-deserved break, whilst the rest of us battled it out under the heat of intense competition.Unexpected highlight of the day ? … Jan arrived before the match started (lol)Our heroes of the Desert Patrol, Jan, Steve, John F, John M and Derek all chose to fish from the hot bankside facing in to the sun, whilst Mick and Mike showed their less masochistic tendencies by taking shelter on the shady bank. The Tench were feeding well on the day, perhaps more so than the Carp, hence there was a good mix of species caught including Tench, Roach, Perch, Mirror & Common Carp plus Rudd including John F’s Personal Best of 1lb 9 ozs.Everyone caught with no blanks, unfortunately Jan didn’t reach a double figure total because … you guessed it, the biggest one got away!To note: John M had a good day of catching the silvers but did not record his weights, hence not a true representation with the match data tables below.    Finally, I am off to hospital for an eye operation tomorrow, I hope this will correct my inaccurate casting and tackle manipulation (Smithers, stop sniggering at the back) that has been a problem during 2023. As a consequence I shall be off the match scene for the next month under strict instructions for recouperation, however I have trained up Steve in the art of being Match Official, but not gone so far as lending him my precious whistle, he will have to get his own! I will resume our Match communications once recovered sufficiently to use a computer, in the meantime please put any queries to Steve as I will not easily be able to read or respond to messages. Mike WaiteMatch Organiser, Horizon Angling Club for the disabledTel: (01243) 771373Mob: 07581062628Sent from my Galaxy
