Three matches down and the competition, like the weather, is hotting up.
On Wednesday, 7 anglers arrived at Three Oaks Fishery to be surprised by the water which presented as a previously unseen blue/green turquoise colour, due to the addition of blue anti-algae chemicals.
Furthermore the water level was 18 inches lower than normal, this due to the South of England having below average rainfall for 2022.
At match start, the day looked promising with several Carp seen cruising near the surface, although as the day wore on it became obvious that these Carp were half asleep and not interested in feeding.
Only three of our anglers managed to catch anything, these all being silvers of 3 oz or less, the other four (57%) of our competitors blanked on what was a very underwhelming day.
The next Three Oaks match is scheduled for 7^th September, by which time the Match Organiser will have reviewed the situation in more detail, the outcome _might_ be to divert matches away from Three Oaks toward an alternative venue.
